Synopsis[]
Alice's date (Ron Rifkin) has two extra tickets to a celebrity ball and everyone wants them.
Storyline[]
The Golden Circle Charity Ball at the Baltimore Hotel is coming up. Roy Clark, O. J. Simpson and Bette Davis will be there. Alice's latest flame Eric reveals that he has 4 tickets to the sold out event through the company he works for. Alice invites both Vera and Flo, but they each think that they can take dates. Things get worse when Mel wants to bully his way in for 2 tickets. The confusion and tension only gets worse from here.

- The title is taken from the musical 'Sweet Charity' by Cy Coleman, Dorothy Fields and Neil Simon. The original Broadway production of "Sweet Charity" opened at the Palace Theater on January 29, 1966, ran for 608 performances and was nominated for the 1966 Tony Award for the Best Musical. John McMartin reprises his role in the movie.
- Mel mentions a new chick he met the night before at the Chez Chug a Lug named Marie, and brings her to the charity ball. In the previous episode "What are you Doing New Years Eve" Mel spends New Years with Marie and they are clearly together.
