Synopsis[]
The girls buy a car from Mel that doesn't start.
Storyline[]
Alice, Flo and Vera all pitch in together to purchase Mel's car from him, only to find that it won't start, as the girls then demand their money back.

- A scene from this episode (the girls trapping Mel in the sun roof of the car) includes Flo, obscured in the back seat behind Mel, but was used in the opening credits for the duration of the show's run, several years beyond Flo's (Polly Holliday's) departure from the show.
- The episode's title comes from the movie Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977).
